Le Mas des Amandiers - Bed & Breakfast
Look no further than the Bed & Breakfast >Le Mas des Amandiers when visiting St Paul de Vence and other gems of the Côte d'Azur.Facing the hill-top village which is known world-wide for its medieval settings and buzzing artistic creativity, Le Mas des Amandiers is in a blissful haven of greenery and calm. Our cherished oasis can be yours too, any time of year. Enjoy stunning views of the ramparts of the medieval village from our provencale villa.
Our four guest rooms accommodate 10 to 12 people in total. Each room has air conditioning, a private toilet and bathroom, outdoor terrace, and breathtaking views; two have kitchenettes. The magnificent overflow swimming pool (available 9:00-21:00), amidst 3500 m² of developing gardens are here for all guests to enjoy.
St Paul de Vence and the famous Fondation Maeght modern art museum are both about 2 kilometres away. Our visitors can choose to walk up to the village; after a 25 to 30 minute walk, they can explore the charming old streets, discover an excellent restaurant, appreciate the particular atmosphere of this art minded village, then easily walk back to find the calm and peace of Le Mas des Amandiers.
Nearby too are Antibes (15 km), Nice (17km), Grasse (21 km), Cannes (26 km), Monaco (35 km), Cap Ferrat, Ezes, and, for that matter Italy, including the famous Ventimiglia and San Remo markets. The closest beaches are 5 kilometres away, and for children (of all ages!), Marineland is 9 km away. As public transportation is not very developed, we advise visitors to have their own means of transportation. A free parking is available.
Thanks to its short distance to the Nice - Côte d'Azur airport and to the Nice Port, le Mas des Amandiers is also a convenient and restful stop-over for all travellers on a journey involving international flights or cruising to Corsica or elsewhere.
Your hostess Wendy will warmly welcome you and will help ensure a memorable holiday.
Start each day by soaking in the tantalising views of St Paul de Vence at breakfast (between 8:30 and 10:00am). The views will whet your appetite for the abundance of activities nearby or help you relive the previous day's experiences.
With the tales of our neighbours who have lived in Saint Paul for generations, we have been able to explore the history of our home and its neighbourhood. In times past Rose de Mai and Fleur d'Oranger were grown here for nearby perfume distilleries. As were and still are artichoke, olives, tomatoes, almonds etc, quite simply the full array of fruit and vegetables that are synonymous with our Mediterranean climate and lifestyle.
As we have been developing the grounds, Wendy’s intention has been to reconnect with that history, for our enjoyment and that of our guests. Many of them, coming back year after year, have been able to appreciate these improvements, which create an ever more harmonious and peaceful framework. And it is our pleasure to share this garden with uninvited guests such as the crickets, the fireflies, the frogs and a faithful old owl ‘who’ returns each year.
